Great question recently submitted regarding PGB roster limits. We've always used 25-man active rosters, but MLB instituted 26-man rosters last year. Bowing to our precedent of following MLB's lead on rules, we'll do the same and allow for 26-man rosters to be used for the 2021 season. This ruling is temporary, and any permanent change will be heavily influenced by whatever direction is taken by MLB.
Addendum: SOM's new software changes allow for the use of the 3-batter minimum for relievers and the runner on 2nd to start extra innings. I'm inclined to play this the same as MLB, at least for the year, but since this involves game play, I'm interested if there are any reactions from the Groundouts. If feedback is indifferent or mixed, we'll default to using the new SOM/MLB rules.
Hmm... Excellent point, ex-commish, about strategy!
I wonder if the extra inning rule will be addressed in the CM or SuperHal with teams able to choose the strategy they want to employ in the extra innings? Do you want to sac the guy over 2nd? Play for the big inning? I would think the strategy may change depending on the opponent. How in depth into the strategy is everyone going to get?
Agree that we follow MLB rules for now.
I agree. Let's see how it goes.
I think this is the right move
Just want to say I think this is the right move
