Tonight's action featured no-hitters on back to back days! On May 25 Santa Catalina's Yu Darvish threw 8 no-hit innings against Brooklyn. Skipper Ken Simone, his team in the middle of what looks like a battle to the finish, for a playoff spot, decided to save an inning for later in the season instead of allowing Darvish to take the mound in the ninth with a chance at PGB history. Dillon Peters mopped up in the ninth, hurling a scoreless frame to complete the no-hitter, the 38th in PGB history. Darvish walked 1 and struck out 7.
We didn't have to wait long for number 39! In May 26th action, Brady Singer of the Low Sox matched Darvish' effort for six innings against Homestead. Singer walked none and struck out 8 Grays. Dylan Coleman worked the 7th, Nick Sandlin the 8th, and Jordan Romano closed it out in the 9th. Preserving both the no-hitter and a 2-0 win for Charleston.
