Buuut, isn’t this the second time Robert has been on the IL this year (dizziness and blurred vision earlier this season), last year he missed time due to a hip flexor injury, and before that he missed time due to thumb injuries??? And he’s only been in MLB 3 seasons! Are we sure he’ll ever complete a full season??

I acknowledge Trout’s not been able to play 160 as consistently as his first bunch of seasons, but removing the Covid year he’s only had one season under 500 plate appearances. And in 18 and 19 when he has IL time he still racked up 600 PAs.

I'm just saying I’m not sure the injury argument is the best one for snubbing a guy who’s projected to get 50 more WAR in his career over a guy who may not put up 50 WAR in his entire career……

Rondell White had a great mustache game and never got cheated on a swing. Produced higher WAR in fewer plate appearances than Jason Varitek, Danny Tartabull or Justin Morneau. Pretty sure he played LF for the Redbirds' expansion squad. Luis Robert would be so lucky!

Jeremy, I love the discussion (and all baseball related discussions) but I didn't realize we were debating Trout vs Robert. The main point was that Trout fell in the mock draft because he has a difficult time staying on the field. While I hope I am wrong, it may not get better now that he's into his 30's. If he would allow the Angels to play him in a corner OF spot and/or DH him some (when Shohei is on the mound), it would give his body a bit of a break but he is such a fierce competitor that he hasn't allowed that to date.
