Hey Guys, how are you all doing in this age of Coronavirus? I hope this post finds you all well, or as well as could be expected. I know some of us are, or soon will be, dealing with sheltering in place issues, toilet paper shortages, work slowdowns, and possibly even the virus itself. I'm not sure what I'm asking here ... I think it's more like an attempt to stay in touch with the guys I share this wonderful "absurd amusement" with, we all call PGB. Please post if you have anything to share, or like me, are looking for a way to stay connected in the atmosphere of "social distancing." Be Well!
So I'll start ... Having said all that, I'm as well as could be expected. No virus related health issues, just dealing with the fallout ... God bless Netflix!
Warwick and family doing well. I'm kinda reclusive by nature, so this "stay at home" thing is right in my wheelhouse. I'm actually OK with it most of the time, but I know thats a character flaw of mine, and definitely not normal!
Would REALLY like them to release the vaccines very soon though. Otherwise I could see myself getting called back to work in the hospital. Virus seems more widespread this time, and affecting hospital workers (most getting infected outside hospital). I REALLY don't wanna go back to the floors... so when the vaccine is released, please get it!!! LOL
FWIW, none of my family in America has been infected (yet...). I did have one family member in England get tested positive in the first wave (and did fine).
Fingers crossed. And be safe out there. Courage!
Hey everyone--how about a renewed Groundout wellness check during this recent spike? My immediate family is well, although I just lost an uncle to Covid who had been battling numerous other health issues in recent years. Stay safe out there!
Being a pharmacist has pluses and minuses in this. Busy with normal volume but spending soooo much time explaining supply and demand. If we don’t create a shortage by hoarding we won’t have one....both TP and basic blood pressure meds. Family all well and locked down in respective home. if inclined see tweet from one of min, Baseball ties https://twitter.com/shanebenson22/status/1238542641228386306?s=21
and don’t PM me I don’t have any Purell😀
I'm a high school English teacher and a part time college adjunct instructor. I'm teaching all of my classes from home online. In theory that sounds good, but the reality is that kids don't read directions and I'm getting frustrated. It takes twice as long to explain something online as it does in person. Other than that, we are all healthy and glad to hear you are all doing well,
My family is doing well, all my classes have been moved online, so I moved back in with my family for now. They have not officially cancelled my graduation yet. I don't care about the ceremony as long as I can finish the semester and graduate.
Still working in the office, probably one more week. Wife is home. Both girls are out of school (high school and college) and home. They started some online school assignments. Everyone is well, no virus.
Health wise we are good. Day care and schools closed. I am WHSE mgr for Martin-Brower who is McDonald's and Chick Fil A supplier.
We are business as usually for now. Volume is down since they have all went to drive thur only. We are considered vital so we will remain open.
Ground outs be safe out there
I work in an office campus, near the hospital, but not in it. Have had one day so far where I was tasked with answering phones for the IMT (Incident Management Team) at the hospital. Getting flooded with anxious COVID calls. Otherwise, I've been ordered to work my usual computer based job from home now. They want our group to be healthy as we may well get called back for front line duty later. Going to get bumpy here soon I think.
Wife is flight attendant, still working, but very few passengers now... airlines are going to start cutting way back soon. Daughter is college senior, now doing all classes virtually from home, with graduation ceremony canceled. We're all doing well.
I work at a hospital in Minneapolis. Non-clinicians like me are on mandatory remote status, but subject to be activated into the labor pool as necessary for non-clinical patient support. Lots of stories from the front line - this whole situation is bringing out the best in many and also shining a light on some gaps that exist in our systems. I'm doing fine personally, just trying to adjust to working from my kitchen table and not go stir-crazy.
I work in the grocery industry, so in a word it’s been crazy. I was actually on vacation this week as it was the week originally planned for GoCon. That being said, I’ve gone into work on three days so far and tomorrow will probably make it 4. Just dealing with trying to fill empty shelves. Sales are up 158% over a year ago! Could have been more if we were able to get all the products people are looking for. Health-wise, fortunately no issues, but a little scary dealing with the public everyday.
Good post Boomer. I work for an agency designed to reduce poverty and homelessness, and I'm moving out from behind my desk to the front lines to work the kitchens and shelters. Probably 60-80 hour work weeks ahead, but glad to help in any way possible. Most peculiar times, these are.
